Telehealth
Telehealth is an option for patients who prefer to do therapy virtually via video or audio only. Telehealth can be provided to individuals who reside throughout the state of Michigan. Research shows telehealth to be just as effective as in person treatment (Hilty, et al, 2013).
Telehealth can provide:
-
Increased flexibility and convenience
-
Increased access to treatment
-
Increased ability for busy professionals to schedule appointments and engage in treatment
-
The ability for individuals to engage in therapy from their home
-
The ability for college students to see the same therapist when they are away at college as well as at home
Telehealth does require an internet or phone connection and is not appropriate for those with more severe mental health issues.
